Playing For Keeps: A Neighbor From Hell Novel

Playing for Keeps (Neighbor from Hell #1) - R.L. Mathewson Meet my Haley...

description

and... my Jason...

description

At first Haley was just one of those 'doormat0ish' girls until one day she confronted Jason, a food slut, for ruining her flower bed.

She just wasn’t any good at handling people. Throw good looks onto a guy that was being particularly jerkish and she turned into a blubbering idiot. Pushy people just sucked and it really sucked that she never learned how to deal with them.

She spied the rolled up hose and made a snap decision. This ended here and now. The days of being the world’s biggest pushover were over.

And of course the food slut was surprised by the 'attack'.

He couldn’t remember someone disliking him so fast and intensely before in his life.

In his defence, his horrible attude should be forgiven because he was just being him.

It wasn’t like he was purposely being an asshole. It just came naturally to him. Everyone understood and accepted it. Probably because even though he was an asshole, he was a likeable asshole…..most of the time.

But that one 'attack' simply drew them closer and they became friends.

Jason could still be a pain in the ass, but a really nice pain in the ass.

Haley was a great baker, and Jason, like I mentioned earlier was a food slut, so yeah, he fell in love with Haley's baked goods and hmm Haley herself.

Haley was quickly becoming his world and for some strange reason it that was fine with him, hence the reason he was scared shitless.

She was the most precious thing in the world to him. So beautiful, so sweet, so giving and too damn good for him, but he was a selfish bastard and wouldn't let her go.

Ever.

Haley grew on his skin.

He was in deep shit. Haley was his life now. His woman. His heart.

He was so screwed.

And vice versa.

"Maybe you should just admit that you're crazy about me," he said, leaning in to kiss her again.

"And why would you want me to do that?" she asked, still smiling.

"Because I'm playing for keeps, my little grasshopper."
