3.5 Slavery Stars
I got the ARC from the author after begging shamelessly
for it a couple of days ago so here I am with an ARC to review. And if you're still unaware of it, I suck at lying bout how I feel about books I read, so yeah, I won't give this book a high rating just because I got it for free. :)
Meet my Madeleine:
and my Aaron:
This is the story of how a cellist
becomes a slave
and how a killer
becomes a lover
.Her name is Madeleine Clark, and when she was abducted, she was not only dragged into hell...
She took over.
Yeah, she did just that, by making the most lethal of them all fall in love with her beauty..She is light while I am darkness, she is raw beauty and so blessedly pure while I am nothing more than a poison to humanity. She deserves her life far more than I deserve mine. ~ Aaron
The premise was great, the characters were interesting..but..the pacing was a bit too slow for a 'romance' book..the side character (yeah, I'm referring to one and only side character, Aaron's bestie) stole the light from the main character..and lastly, my biggest problem (and not just with this book) the details, or in the correct term : the lack of details. Sometimes I was left wondering why certain events happened..and why certain characters behaved the way they did..It was the book's job to explain it to me but it failed to do so and I had to make an excuse for everything (yeah, I'm one of those nuts people who need an explanation for everything thus leading to me creating scenarios in my small head LOL)..not my best read but still a memorable read with the prologue (it was fantastic people!) LOL
